Today was a BIG DAY! First, we walked in the "Pooches on Parade" (http://www.poochesonparade.org) through downtown Half Moon Bay, along with a couple of hundred dogs, including a pair of pugs. I was wearing my ruff and a star-and-stripes bow attached to my harness, which is about all the costume I'll put up with. One dog had a Zorro costume and another had blue stars painted on his fur. There was even a human dressed as a dog, but walking on two legs. A couple of dogs were wearing cameras on their backs, recording the parade from our perspective. We also saw several goats and ponies, although I ignored them. I stopped a lot along the route to be petted and sniff for treats, but there was only candy for humans. I wish someone would have thrown dog treats! Maybe next year.

After the parade came the BarkBQ at Cameron's. Each dog who had walked in the parade got a goodie bag. I also had a frozen peanut butter-flavored sweet treat (see the last picture below). Mom and Dad had beer and barbequed chicken, sausages and ribs, along with baked beans, potato salad, pasta salad and rolls. Mom gave me a little of her chicken. I got to see some Shih Tzu puppies in a wagon and lots of dogs, including my old neighbor Rusty.

Thanks to all the organizers and a Happy Fourth of July to everyone!
